I am currently working as an administrative assistant very part-time for a property management company and also volunteering very part-time in accounting for the State of California. Despite working, I am disabled and poor and have no car and no access to a kitchen. I'm trying to change this. Would you hire me? You'd become an awesome solution to both our problems. I'd love the chance to meet you and hear your story. Here's my story.
You've got to understand the power of the Bible before you'll understand the power of obeying the Bible. The Bible is the Word, God's Word, but more than that, it is also Jesus, the Spirit of Jesus, the Holy Spirit. It is so powerful that whatever it says will come true and it has the power to heal. But let me come back to this topic.
I've prayed all my life for a purpose, a mission, a vision, something to live for, and I struggled. Man, did I struggle. And God gave me a mission on 4/15/25. It wasn't in the form of a vision, or something I saw, and it wasn't audible - not something I heard. All of a sudden I just knew my purpose. A big idea just landed on me, touched my brain and I shouted, YES, YES, YES! I'll do it! I know God speaks to us because I know I heard from God! I have no doubt about it! It was like He gave me a living thing, and now it's my job to take care of it and help it grow, but it's God who'll make it grow, I just have to feed it and water it and prune it as it grows. It's like I'm a junior gardener. But He's the Master Gardener. He's in charge of the growth. He's in charge of everything.
God asked me if I wanted to start a hotline or a call center or a hub of some sort where people in need let us know of something they need -- and can't live without -- costing a certain amount, and other people who want to be givers let us know an amount that they'd like to give, and we match them up based on the giver's budget. The giver has a choice as to who they'd like to give to. What I haven't decided yet is if we're going to put the two in direct contact with each other. But whoever calls, no matter who they are or how many times they've called, we will share the Gospel with them and/or our testimony - the personal testimony of whoever is answering the call. It's more than a nonprofit, it's a ministry.
The first step would be a questionnaire which would be online and would go into an online database so that givers and receivers can see each other and choose each other. But for an actual transaction -- before anything changes hands or any contact is made -- the persons on both ends need to be in touch with our call center. And no one escapes without hearing the Gospel! This could become a nation-wide -- even a global endeavor. Many logistics need to be figured out.
I am totally undaunted by the enormity and complexity of this idea. I know it's gonna happen, no doubt about it. I just need to broaden my horizons and get out there and meet some people in the nonprofit world who can steer me in the right direction. I'll figure it out. I don't even care if it's been done before. By golly I'm gonna do it. In the beginning I'll be doing it alone, but that doesn't concern me. It's me and God doing it together.
I've read Isaiah 58 probably thousands of times and it never ceases to inspire me. It's about what God really wants from us, how he wants us to treat each other. He wants us to help each other out, and if we do, He'll reward us in the most amazing ways. See for yourself the promises it contains. Read below. At first you'll think - "I can't do that, I don't have tons of money!" But the amazing thing is, you don't need tons of money. Start small and do what you can, and whatever you spend, He refills your cup. Try it and see. Look at the rewards. Whatever material possessions you choose to give up - It's worth it! Your depression will go away! God promises to come to your aid! Read below!
6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness[a] will go before you,
and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
9 Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
“If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
with the pointing finger and malicious talk,
10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.
11 The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.

I have schizophrenia and at times I "hear" competing "voices" telling me to "go left" and then, "no, go right" and then, "no, no, I told you to go left!" and then "NO NO you've got it all wrong, go right!" And it's because I have spirits around me due to fooling around with New Age and shamanism. So I beg the Lord to "speak!" because I'd give anything to hear His voice. But I know and I trust that He's guiding me. I pray and wait expectantly for Him.
You can take anything the Word says to the bank, it will happen, it is Truth. All God's prophecies have come true or are about to come true. And because of the ones that have already come true, you can bank on the rest coming true. You can feel it when you read it. You can feel that you're reading and saying Truth. Read in Proverbs all the promises and pick one. How about "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths (or make them straight)." That's Proverbs 3:5-6. Do you want God to direct your path? Do you want Him to make them straight? Then trust Him, not yourself, and acknowledge Him before you do anything, and He will direct you! Your path will straighten out. That's just one promise among thousands! Why do you think so many people read the Bible, why it's the #1 best-selling book? Because some of us caught on and we realized that we can take this to the bank! Anything in the Bible!
Do you suffer from mental issues? You've got to realize that we're surrounded by spirits, and the Bible drives them away because the Bible is the Sword of the Spirit and it cuts the ties between you and your demons. Read the Bible every day, I mean every day, and meditate upon scripture that feels particularly healing to you. It cleanses your mind. You'll start to think positively. You'll start to have faith, hope, love. You'll want to get saved. Don't stop on the journey until you're born again my friend! You'll want to take this healing path all the way to the end, and that means getting saved. You may realize that you were never actually saved, even though you thought you were. It's okay! It happens to the best of us! But let me just tell you, I used to be severely mentally ill, was hospitalized dozens of times, took off my clothes in public and got myself into all kinds of dangerous situations, was paranoid, heard voices, was manic, did Tarot cards and various forms of divination (just made the demons stronger)... but now I have 2 jobs and my own place and I'm normal! I just sometimes still get visited by a demon. That's why I say I'm not totally healed. God allows one demon to still harass me occasionally. But I don't let that get in my way! I keep reading that Bible! It makes everything better! I continue to heal.
If you don't have a Bible or you don't feel comfortable with your Bible, go to www.biblegateway.com and look up your favorite word. Mine was "peace." Then read all the scriptures that come up and do it repeatedly, even memorizing them. That's how I began the healing process. It takes time, but if you keep at it, your mind will heal gradually. Developing "illness" didn't happen overnight and neither will healing, but if you're diligent and keep at it every day, you'll start to improve and it will feel remarkable. You'll really notice the difference. You'll feel the healing taking place.
What is the gospel you ask? The gospel is simply the fact that Jesus was the Son of God, lived a perfect life and died a criminal's death in the place of you and me. He died as a sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. He was crucified and rose again from the dead on the third day, and lives now as spiritual King of all that He created. His Kingdom is now in heaven but has not been made manifest on Earth as far as being recognized as King, but He is very much in control and He hears every prayer, hears every thought, and sees every action. He will return to Earth and there will be a Day of Judgement that no one can escape from, where each of us will answer for what we've done and give an account. But those who have believed in Jesus will be pardoned, forgiven, and allowed entry to heaven. Jesus came for sinners and to be saved you must acknowledge that you are just as guilty as any one of us. We are all guilty.
Have you ever heard of the 10 commandments? Have you ever lied? If so, you're a liar. Have you ever stolen? If so, you're a thief. Have you ever said OMG or used Jesus' Name as a curse word? If so, you're a blasphemer. Have you ever hated someone? According to Jesus, you're a murderer. Have you ever looked with lust at someone? According to Jesus, you're an adulterer. Plus, if you've had sex outside of marriage, you're a fornicator. You're a lying, thieving, blaspheming, murdering, fornicating adulterer. So am I. Are you innocent or guilty on Judgement Day? You and I are guilty. Heaven, or hell? Friend, we all deserve hell.
There are many other things that are sinful. If you've done any of them, you're a sinner and the wages of sin are death. But we are all in the same boat. We are all sinners, and we who are saved will have eternal life with Jesus in heaven. What do you need to do to go there? Simply believe that Jesus was the Son of God, recognize that you are a sinner and repent, turn around. If you don't like the idea of turning around, you must not need a Savior. You do, but you don't think you do. Give it some thought and talk to Jesus about it. He knows your thoughts. He hears you. If you're ready, seek Him, pray to Him, reach for Him. He'll be right there to grab hold of your hand, spiritually speaking. Confess out loud that "Jesus is Lord." Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. Romans 10:9-10. And you will be saved.
